1ST Nepali Paraplegic Raft Descent on the Bhote Kosi River with Support of STS

On Friday the 16th May 2008, 2 staff from the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center (SIRC) in Kathmandu made Nepalese history with a first descent of the Lower Bhote Kosi. Their achievement was remarkable in that both participants were paralyzed from the waist down. For just over 2 hours they rafted through grade 2-3+ white water supported by a team of professional raft guides including Senior STS Guide Dan Wright.

The whole trip was arranged and paid for by STS as part of their Charities and Challenges initiative.
