Itinerary

Day 01

Half Day Kathmandu, Transfer to Nagarkot 
Late afternoon, pick up from your hotel and transfer to hill town of Nagakot, 45 minutes drive above Kathmandu. Dinner and Overnight Hotel in Nagarkot

Day 02

 Nagarkot- Changu Narayan- Bhaktapur, day hike optional
After breakfast with sunrise views of the Himalayas from Nagarkot, transfer by private vehicle to explore two world heritage sites, 5th century Changu Narayan Temple complex and main attractions of Bhaktapur. Overnight Heritage Guest House in Bhaktapur
*OPTIONAL: A day trek from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan of 3.5 hours is possible on this day; the walk is along small village foot paths offers panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas, terraced fields and rivers and valleys.

Day 03

 Half Day Bhaktapur, Drive to Pokhara
Early AM, explore temples of Bhaktapur in the mist and local town and market life as the day begins. After breakfast, drive 5.5 hours 30 minute to Pokhara, stopping for lunch and villages en-route. Arrival in Pokhara and transfer to hotel. Overnight Hotel in Pokhara

Day 04

 Pokhara, day hike optional
After breakfast, set out for Sarangkot, the best vantage point above Pokhara. Take in views of the Fewa Lake against a backdrop of the Annapurna range and the beautiful 7000m+ Mt. “Machapuchare” which derives its name from its twin peaks shaped like a fish’s tail. Explore the Barahi Temple with a boat trip on the Fewa Lake. Overnight Hotel in Pokhara
*OPTIONAL: A day trek from Naudanda to Sarangkot for 3-3.5 hours is possible on this day; the walk along small village foot paths offers panoramic views of the lush Pokhara valley, and the central and western Himalayas.

Day 05

Pokhara, day hike optional
After breakfast at the hotel, explore the Buddhist pagoda “Shanti Stupa” above the Pokhara Valley and drive 30 minutes outside Pokhara to visit Hyangja, a Tibetan Settlement, where there is a monastery, arts and crafts and carpet weaving centers against views of Mt. Fishtail. Overnight Hotel in Pokhara
*OPTIONAL: A day trek for 2.5-3 hrs near Pokhara is possible. The walk is on small foot paths through hills and picturesque Nepalese villages between Begnas Tal and Rupa  Tal, Pokhara’s two other lakes, which are less crowded than the main Fewa Lake.

Day 06

 Drive Pokhara to Chitwan
After breakfat, 5 hrs drive from Pokhara to Chitwan, Arrive at Wildlife Resort in Chitwan National Park. After lunch, elephant-back safari for 2-3 hrs to explore the jungle and wildlife. Later in the evening, the resort staff will have a slide presentation about the Chitwan National Park and topics relating to Nepal’s wildlife. Dinner and Overnight Wildlife Resort

Day 07

Chitwan National Park
A full day of Jungle Activities: Early start at 5:30 AM for a Nature Walk or Jeep Safari to explore the main features of the Chitwan National Park – Sal forest, open grassland and riverine jungle inhabited by various wildlife, birds and plants. A visit to the elephant stables and an interesting briefing about elephants, a canoe ride down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds and crocodiles along the river banks, bird watching and a cultural dance by local villagers ends with dinner around the campfire. Day 08 Fly Chitwan (Bharatpur) to Kathmandu
One more elephant safari or bird watching. After breakfast, transfer to Bharatpur Domestic Airport for 30 minute flight to Kathmandu. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
