Charities and Challenges (C&C) is the Responsible Travel Division of the adventure travel company Sherpa Trekking Service (STS) based in Nepal. C&C was established in 2007 by the CEO of the company, Miss Kesang Doma Sherpa. A firm believer in the benefits of Responsible Travel, she wished to add a charitable, philanthropic aspect to normal backpacking holidays to Nepal.

About Sherpa Trekking Service (STS)

Founded in 1971, Sherpa Trekking Service (STS) is one of the first trekking agencies established in Nepal. Leading the way for the last 38 years in adventure tourism in the Himalayas, STS specializes in tailor made expeditions, treks and tours of a very high standard of service. STS was founded by Mr. Kaldhen Sherpa who was the first student to be sponsored by the Late Great Sir Edmund Hilary to go to school in Kathmandu from the then remote Khumbu Valley in Nepal’s Everest region. STS is now run by his daughter, Kesang.
