Located in the picturesque Manaslu Region of Nepal, Singla Village needs some basic support
The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center (SIRC) has been in operation since 2002
This Charity Trek is in benefit of the Bio-Gas Project at the Arya Tara School in Pharping. The school provides free boarding, food and secular education to 50 young Buddhist nuns who come from the most impoverished regions in Nepal.
Some of the villages like Singla in the very picturesque but impoverished Manaslu Region of Nepal need basic support for its school. The organization “Friends of Singla” (FOS) is active in improving the quality of life and opportunities for the residents of Singla village, which comprises about 200 households. There are over 190 children but classrooms are unorganized and children of mixed ages have to study together, and there are no facilities such as libraries or reading rooms.
Our clients and guests who come to visit Nepal usually have to travel thousands of miles by air to get here. We want to do our bit to help offset their carbon footprint by planting trees initially around Kathmandu and later on in some of the trekking regions. Starting July of 2009, we will plant a batch of 50 trees for the first 50 participants of the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Conference which takes place November 16-19, 2009. All costs related to pre-planting, planting and post-planting maintenance will be borne by us. [Read More]
